I'll be spending the entire month of September volunteering in the villages of Mumbai. Each day will consist of a 1-3 hour commute to my work site and back, a 9 hour work day, 1 hour of hindi tutoring, and sleeping. In addition to this, two weekly meetings with the director of the program are required as well daily journal entries. Sounds like hard work doesnt it? Out of the entire month, I'll get one weekend off! I'm going to try to head over to Agra that weekend to see the Taj Mahal. Hopefully some other volunteers will be interested in going as well and we can all go together! I'll find out what my assignment is next week sometime, so check back for that.

Pre-trip

Welcome to my travel blog! My goal is to update this as regularly as I can while in Mumbai. It might be every day, it might be once a week, or maybe less. I'll have a better idea once I reach India and see what kind of access I have to the internet.

8/25, 10 pm : flying out of Newark, NJ
8/26 : spending the day in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
8/27 : arriving in Dhaka, Bangladesh
9/3 : next stop: Mumbai, India
