Dude, where's my ride?

And the adventure begins...i got stranded at the airport. Yup. So far, over forty volunteers have come to Bombay and every single one has gotten picked up at the airport with no problems. But me, lucky little me, I walk out of the airport in a country that I've never been in at 9 pm and cant find my ride. The director of the program usually picks up the volunteers but she was mia...what to do? Since I dont speak hindi, i was in a bit of a dilemna. I decided to get in a cab and put my life in the hands of the cab driver. He got lost. We stopped five times for directions. He doesnt speak english, I dont speak hindi. Great huh? We eventually got to the building, I knocked on the door, and no one was home. Time: 10:30 pm. I'm thinking that either I'll be spending the night on the stairs outside of the apartment or I'll have to somehow convince the cab driver to take me to some hotel in the area (not that I even know if there are any). Just for kicks, I rang the doorbell of the apartment next door and explained my situation (thank god the woman understands some english). I dont know how she pulled this off, but she walked outside and talked to some random guy on the street, got the number of the director of AVSAR and called her. Turns out that she had gone to the wrong airport! So anyway, I'm here, I'm safe, and I'm ready.

Greetings from across the world!

Hello! I hope that you're all doing well over there. I'm spending a few days in Bangladesh with my family. I havent been here for eight years - things are completely different now - so much more modern.

I just found out that I'll being working with the Nirmaya Health Foundation in Mumbai during my month stay. I'm excited because its one of the larger NGO's (non government organization) that AVSAR works with. I'll find out more about my project once I get there, but I know that I will be working with children. yay!
